I’m stuck on a Writing question and need an explanation.

A free write is a time period to write freely on a subject and give your thoughts and opinions; it is a chance to reflect and process. It is graded only on participation—not on grammar, spelling, or word choice. However, you should still strive to abide by basic grammar rules in the least. This free write should be at least 500 words total, and you can spend as much or as little on each question as you like. If you don’t reach the 500 word minimum, you will get 0 points on this.
