Can you help me understand this History question?

This paper should include some genealogical research and discussion pertaining to heritage identity in respect to (intangible) cultural traditions and places of historic origin. A diversity of different sources should be used for this assignment including but not limited to family member interviews. Distinctions should be made between oral tradition and substantiated facts. This may be hard to do since you are not in my family but I can answer any questions you have. If you do not think this is possible to do please let me know.
